Brent A. Stanton

State Chairman Brent A. Stanton, pictued at left, was elected by his peers in their confidence at the 2007 Bi-Annual Teenage Republicans Convention held at DeVos Place on February 10, 2007.

Prior to becoming Chairman, Brent served as the Vice Chairman for former Michigan Teenage Republicans Chairman and Ingham County TARS Chairman Terrance Williams. Along with Chairman Williams, Brent worked hard to get teens in Michigan involved with the Republican party.

Brent got his first dose of the Republican Party in 1999 when he volunteered at the Williamston Victory Center making phone calls for then-Governor George W. Bush in his campaign for President. Before serving as Vice Chairman after Tyler Whitney resigned, Brent was the Secretary of the Michigan Federation of Teenage Republicans and got involved with TARS around 2002. Brent got involved with TARS after working with other youth on the Dick Posthumus for Governor Campaign.

Since then, Brent has worked on numerous campaigns including being the Ingham County Communications Director for the DeVos for Governor Campaign in 2006. Brent has also worked on campaigns for Don Vickers, Johnny Knowles, Representative Paul Opsommer, Senator Roger Kahn and for Secertary of State Terri Lynn Land.

In 2007, Brent was elected by his fellow State Chairman to serve as National Chairman of the National Teenage Republicans State Chairmen's Association for a 1-year term ending in August of 2008. The NTRSCA is a policy-based organization where state federations come together for the exchange of iedas.

Brent hopes that he and the rest of his administration will be able to being the Michigan Teenage Republicans back so that again, Michigan can be the epitome of involvement for Teenagers and the Republican Party. Brent is the Senior Class President at Williamston High School in Williamston, MI (Ingham) where he lives with his mother, father, two brothers and two dogs. Brent will attend Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI this fall. He vows to be involved with the CMU College Republicans.
